Length : 50 min

The film follows the daily life of a group of British volunteers who travelled to the mountain regions of Nicaragua to help with the coffee harvest while local workers were otherwise engaged in fighting the Contras.

Although the film mentions agrarian reform, military agression by the Contras and social achievements in Nicaragua, it concerns itself mainly with the experiences of the British volunteers including, at times, some very comical situations.

« Interesting, lucid and well made, the film provides a wry contrast between the sometimes petty, comic and mundane experiences of the volunteers (squabbling over stolen biscuits for example) and the seriousness of the political situation around them » -Clyde Jeavons, London Film Festival.
