In this 26-minute documentary we accompany a master chimney sweep and his apprentice on their rounds.

We discover not only their job but also local law in Alsace which obliges everyone with a chimney (private and industrial alike) to have it swept twice a year by a fully-qualified sweep. This law dates back to the period (between 1870 and 1918) when the region belonged to Germany.

The French Government is currently passing a national law extending the practice to the rest of the country.
